Bowen Island
Mention “birthing on Bowen” at the coffee shop or within earshot of on-island parents, and you’ll be rich in stories of the myriad of ways there are to bring babes earthside with a body of water between you and the nearest hospital. Other local, experienced support workers have been paving the way for many years, creating clear pathways for folks to birth both on and off-island. We will work together to explore all options and come up with a plan you feel comfortable with.
My full spectrum package includes a monthly check-in call; text, email, or phone support during pregnancy; on-call during your birth month; virtual or in-person birth support; immediate postpartum support and on-call for the first 10 days postpartum; twelve hours of postpartum support, used either in 3 or 4-hour blocks.

Birth & Postpartum Support—
Lower Mainland, Vancouver
There is no hierarchy in birth. Some folks have the privilege of choice in deciding where and how to birth, and for others, it is quite simply a matter of life and death. I strongly believe that my support is best utilized in the hospital setting where medical intervention is commonplace and frequently, unnecessary. I also believe that in situations where medical intervention is most definitely the only option, folks should be lifted up, held, and validated in their own unique experiences.
Since I’m located on Bowen Island, my rates are higher off-island as I have to account for my travel expenses. If you call me when the ferry is off schedule, I will call out the water taxi to take me to the mainland. The ferry is just a 20-minute ride to Horseshoe Bay and the water taxi is even speedier. From West Vancouver, I can get to Lion’s Gate Hospital within 30 minutes; St. Paul’s Hospital within 30 minutes; BC Women’s within 45 minutes. If I’m meeting you at home, I’m currently serving West Vancouver, Downtown, Mount Pleasant, and Riley Park.

Postpartum Work—Bowen Island
Supporting families postpartum is something I’m wildly dedicated and committed to. Oftentimes, in the throes of those newborn days, it can (literally) feel like you’re on an island. We’ll check in regularly throughout your pregnancy and meet once or twice to talk about all the things we can do to support you in your fourth trimester. When you return home – both physically and metaphorically – you’ll know I’ll be there waiting.
I offer postpartum support as a package that includes two postpartum planning sessions, and four three-hour postpartum visits. is $495 + GST.
The suggested exchange for my postpartum support package is $495/ hour. If you’d like to book more time or ad hoc hours, my hourly rate is $40 for postpartum support.
