How does sliding scale work?
Everyone is deserving of support. If it’s accessible for you to pay more than my suggested exchange, your contribution will be returned back to the community. This is how we pay it forward. If support is out of bounds for your financially, please get in touch and we’ll work together to get you the support you need.
How can you support me if you live on an island?
Good question that I ask myself very often, too! Bowen Island is a 20-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. The ferry runs rain or shine, every hour, every day. Depending on traffic, it takes around 30 minutes to get to Lions Gate Hospital and about an hour to get to BC Women’s. This is why I’m primarily offering scheduled, in-hospital support to folks who live off-island.
How does doula support work on Bowen Island?
We’ll work together to come up with a plan that you’re comfortable with. Birthing on Bowen doesn’t need to be stressful or complex, you just have to know all your options and despite the unpredictability of birth, be a little more prepared. The beauty of having on-island support is that when you return home, your support network is right here waiting. If you’re birthing off-island and would prefer to have a birth doula on the mainland, I can support you in finding one, too.
